Ortofon LW-800S header cables
LW-800S is the most sophisticated lead wire, consisting of Pure Silver and Silver coated wire.
The end of the wire is fixed with the rhodium plated terminal.
Because silver has the best electrical conductivity properties of all metals, LW-800S silver wire can transmit very clear high-pitched signals bringing brilliant tonality to sound reproduction.
Installation instructions
All Ortofon cartridges have a color coding of the terminals showing red and green for the hot and ground terminal, respectively. White and blue for the hot and ground terminal respectively for the left channel. The green terminal will always be used to ground the cartridge housings or motor system whenever it is connected inside the cartridge.
We recommend connecting the lead wires to the cartridge and the head before mounting the cartridge in the head. Please do not forget to direct potential customers correctly. The terminal pins of the Ortofon SH-4 head and Ortofon cartridges have a diameter of 1.2 mm, while the diameter of the pins of the Ortofon heads is normally only 1.0 mm.
Using the LW 8N with the SH-4 header requires the LW 8N shell edge clamp to be slightly expanded to fit the SH-4 PINs. If it slides, it may cause the assembly to be overtightened. By knowing this detail, you avoid the risk of the cartridge’s terminal PINs falling out.
