Ortofon MC Windfeld phono cartridge
MC Windfeld was developed in 2008 using the latest technology.
The world’s most cutting-edge analog cartridge, this highly advanced design can be seen as a tribute to its engineer Per Windfeld, who left Ortofon, a hallmark of high-end culture as head of development for over 30 years. Behind great cartridges such as Ortofon MC 20 Super, Concorde, MC Rohmann, MC Jubilee, Kontrapunkt Series.
MC Windfeld was designed by a team led by Mr. Windfeld’s successor, Leif Johannsen, Ortofon’s Head of Acoustics and Development. The cartridge is named after Mr. Windfeld – the letters “PW” are written in gold on the side of the cartridge.
MC Windfeld can ideally be combined with the Ortofon TA-210 and TA-110 tone arms and the ST-80 SE MC transformer.
Includes MC Windfeld’s design elements
Leif Johannsen delves into Per Windfeld’s previous design innovations, including the following design elements of the MC Windfeld cartridge:
• Wide Range Damping (WRD) system
• A powerful neodymium magnet system with a Field Stabilization Element (FSE) built into the magnet system.
• The ultra-fine polished version of the extremely low-mass, large vertical-contact Replicant 100 diamond can extract musical information from channels with a higher degree of accuracy than any other needle.
