The Performance e-FLEX HDMI cable has all the features of our Performance HDMI but includes a specially designed ‘e-FLEX cord’ to allow the cable to fit in tight spaces between the TV and the wall. The cable provides very low jitter for accurate timing of video and audio data as it benefits from the application of design secrets uncovered by our state-of-the-art HDMI test suite. This cable supports Deep Color, 3D and 4K, meeting the requirements of the latest HDMI specifications. The E-Flex jacket consists of a special PVC compound that makes the cable extremely flexible, allowing it to be used in tight spaces between the TV or projector and the wall.

WHY ARE CABLES SO IMPORTANT
QED is the only UK manufacturer to be able to test HDMI cable designs beyond the scope of the current HDMI specification, meaning it is uniquely placed to evaluate new technical innovations before deciding whether to go into full production. QED has identified cable-induced timing error, called “flicker,” as one of the key dividers between satisfactory and outstanding cables.
These findings allowed us to optimize transmission speed and jitter performance, both to ensure it exceeds the high standards we set for our Performance cable series.
Naturally, as QED customers demand better, we have scientifically designed our cables to reduce vibration to the absolute minimum.
QED AGAINST COMPETITION
The eye diagram above shows that a competitor’s 3m HDMI cable narrowly passed the test and flickered up to 103 picoseconds (ps); enough to allow “bit errors” to the video signal.
The diagram below shows the results of the same test on the 3m QED Performance e-Flex HDMI cable. The eye is much more ‘open’, showing superior headroom compared to the competing cable. More importantly, it has significantly reduced the incidence of bit errors reaching Jitter TV, maximizing audio and video data transfer to just 66 picoseconds.

HDMI HIGH SPEED WITH ETHERNET
Applies to all HDMI cables that have been tested at an authorized test center and found to pass the eye mask test at a combined data rate of 10.2Gb/s 340Mhz pixel clock. The cable must also pass the CEC and DDC connectivity test and comply with the HDMI Ethernet and Audio Return Channel test procedure.
