Transfiguration is the new entry model in the Axia Transfiguration series
Replaces the critically acclaimed Aria and shares many of the features and sound quality of its higher-priced barn mates.
Like all Transfiguration designs, the Axia includes an ultra-tight magnetic coil attachment. The coils are not just close; they are literally inside the ring magnet and the coil magnetic proximity is only a few thousandths of an inch.
With minimizing dynamic mass and eliminating coil saturation, Transfiguration cartridges respond extremely quickly and accurately to trough movements.
“This is a very crisp and clear-sounding cartridge that focuses on information … I compared the Axia to Transfiguration’s Spirit 3 MC and found a surprisingly small difference in overall sound.
Spirit’s touch was lighter, while Axia was marginally smoother. on guitar or violin. ” – World of Hi-Fi
“Axia’s parts are of high quality. The motor’s coils operate within a double ring magnet, resulting in tight magnetic coupling and reducing mass. There is a 0.3mm diameter boron cantilever attached to the coils. An Ogura PA 3x 30um diamond installed a model used by a number of other cartridge manufacturers and Orpheus L, Transfiguration’s most expensive cartridge ($7000).” – Michael Fremer, Stereophile Magazine,
